It's MS150 time!

2008.08.05 Regional news: GM&O Rails-to-Trails Purchase Finalized
The purchase agreement
between Mississippi Tennessee Holdings, LLC and the GM&O Rails-to-
Trails Recreational District was finalized on July 18, 2008. The
District now owns all land, easements and other rights to the rail
corridor and its 100 foot right-of-way at or near milepost 281.0 at
Houston, MS; northward to a point at or near milepost 325.53 at New
Albany, MS. Pre-construction rules and
regulations will be published in local newspapers at a later date.

Governor Barbour, Mayor Howorth, and the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors have proclaimed May 2008 to be Bicycle Month. Scheduled events include:
Community Depot Rides - Sundays in May at 3pm
Bike to Lunch – Wednesday, May 14th
Bike/Walk to Work/School – May 12-16th
